Nordnorsken24

I am excited to be a part of an annual, regional group exhibition for the Northern part of Norway! The exhibition opened in Bodø the 27th of January and will move around to various art galleries. Right now it is showing in Mo i Rana at Rana Art Association.

My work is a textile painting called “My Struggle, silenced” from 2017. This work has previously been shown at Høstutstillingen (the Norwegian fall exhibition) in 2018.

Jeg er så glad for å vare med på Nordnorsken 2024, en årlig vandreutstilling i de nordligste fylkene våre. Utstillingen åpnet i Bodø 27ende januar og vil fortsette til 2025 via forskjellige gallerier og kunstforeninger.

Akkurat nå er utstillingen i Rana kunstforening i Mo i Rana.

Mitt bidrag til utstillingen er verket “Min Kamp, fortiet” fra 2017. Dette er et maleri med tråd som tidligere har vært vist, blant annet på Høstutstillingen i 2018.

"Remembering the past, creating the future" // "Minnes fortiden, skape framtiden"

My self portrait is going to Wales! Last year it exhibited in Romania, and earlier this year it was a part of the duo-exhibition “Forced thread” in Lista.

I have made a thing out of sending “myself” out in the world, so I mark the package with “mysterious grandmother” travels alone. And yes, I am a grandmother, both to my daughters little prince and to my bonus daughters little princess ❤️

I do wish I would be able to join the rest of the artists at the opening of the exhibition. I hope it will be a good event for them. And hopefully my textile self will be well received.

Mitt selvportrett skal til Wales! I fjor var det med på utstilling i Romania og tidligere i år var det en del av duo-utstillingen “Tvungen tråd” på Lista.

Jeg har gjort en “greie” av å sende “meg selv” ut i verden. Jeg merker pakken med “Mystiske mormor” reiser alene. Og ja, jeg er mormor, både til min datters prins og til min bonusdatters prinsesse. ❤️

Jeg skulle ønske jeg kunne være med på åpningen sammen medresten av kunstnerne som stiller ut. Håper de får en fin åpning. Og jeg håper mitt tekstile jeg blir godt mottatt.

Scythia

I am participating in the textile biennale, Scythia in Ivano-Frankivs´k in June this year. Together with artists from all over the world I am exhibiting my needle felted ears from my series “Lend me an ear”. I will come back with photos from the exhibition after the opening!

Jeg er med på den tekstile biennalen “Scythia” i Ivano-Frankivs´k i juni i år. Sammen med kunstnere fra hele verden stiller jeg ut mine nålefiltede ører fra serien “Lån meg et øre”. Jeg vil oppdatere med bilder fra utstillingen etter åpningen!

"Forced Thread" / "Tvungen Tråd"

Plans sometimes has to change, and so was the case with my “50 shades of skin”. I overworked the textile painting and had no chance of finishing it before the exhibition. Hundreds of working hours spent in a piece that for now will remain, unfinished, in my studio. A new version will start soon and I can’t wait to begin - the motif still excites me! And hopefully I learnt something during my previous attempt :-)

Planer er til for å endres sies det, og det er tilfelle med “50 shades of skin”. Jeg stresset før utstillingen og endte med å overarbeide deler av det, slik at jeg ikke hadde mulighet til å bli ferdig. Flere hundre arbeidstimer ble brukt og verket vil forbli uferdig i atelieret mitt. Jeg starter snart en ny versjon og jeg kan nesten ikke vente! Motivet interesserer meg fortsatt veldig. Og forhåpentligvis har jeg lært noe gjennom forrige forsøk :-)

Portrait NOW!

In 2023, the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle will once again hold its Nordic portrait competition, the Carlsberg Foundation’s Portrait Award. This is the ninth time the competition is being held.

Ved det Nasjonalhistoriske Museum i Fredriksborg Slott holdes den nordiske portrettkonkurransen, Carlsberg fondets Portrettpris. Dette er den niende gangen konkurransen arrangeres.

Portrait NOW! is a portrait biennale in Denmark. It Is sponsored by the Carlsberg foundation and is held at the amazing Fredriksborg Castle! I am thrilled to be a part of this exhibition with my painting with thread “KunZenTration”.

Portrait NOW! er en portrett biennale i Danmark. Biennalen er sponset av Carlsberg fondet og arrangeres ved det utrolige slottet i Fredriksborg! Jeg er virkelig begeistret for å være med på utstillingen med mitt maleri med tråd “KunZenTration”.

The competition is open to all artists residing in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Åland Islands, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, and all media – painting, sculpture, video, installation, sound art.

An international jury of experts will award the competition prizes and select a number of portraits that will be included in the exhibition Portrait NOW! 2023 at the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle from May 2023.

Utstillingen er åpen for alle kunstnere bosatt i Danmark, Norge, Sverige, Åland, Finland, Island, Færøyene og Grønland. Utstillingen inneholder alle medium - maleri, skulptur, video, installasjon, lydkunst.

En internasjonal jury bestående av eksperter vil tildele priser og velge ut et antall portretter som vil bli inkludert i utstillingen Portrait NOW! 2023 ved Det Nasjonalhistoriske Museum ved Fredriksborg slott fra mai 2023.
